DISAPPOINTED in "THE GAME"

"Play the Game" just opened in South Florida - before bigger markets such as New York and Los Angeles.

The film has a terrific cast - Andy Griffith, (remember him in Mayberry R.F.D.?, Doris Roberts, Raymond's mother and Liz Sheridan, Seinfeld's mother. So far, so good.

Grandpa Joe (Griffith) is finally seeking companionship years after his wife died. His grandson David (Paul Campbell) instructs grandpa how to "play the game." Tells him where to meet a lady, play hard to get and let them chase you.

David plays that game with Julie (Maria Sokoloff) but his game doesn't work on her.

Grandpa makes out much better then David!

I'm still trying to figure out why I didn't care for either of the young people in their roles. Maybe the idea of "The Game" bothered me. It was all just to cute!

The word "hemorrhoids" was used a number of times, I just didn't think it was funny.

There were a few good moments, a few laughs but all in all not my cup of tea.

There were a few scenes where Grandpa Joe and his grandson David are sitting by a lake on SAND CHAIRS!

Now tell me, what 82 year old senior can not only sit in one of those chairs but, GET OUT OF A SAND CHAIR!! I haven't been able to do that in years!!

I haven't seen any reviews of this movie but I'll be looking forward to reading what "they" have to say.

My opinion: "Andy Griffith should have stayed in Mayberry, R.F.D."
